2006: The Second Best Real Estate Year in Eagle County

Real Estate sales remain strong in the Vail Valley

2006 was the second best real estate year in history, falling short of 2005 by only 2%.  The number of transactions for the year was 3,115 for a total of $2,754,171,600 in sales.  The high end market with a sales price of more than $5 million per transaction was the driving factor in the 2006 volume.  The high end market accounted for 43 transactions with more than $300 million in sales.  The average price of a single family home was $1,210,790 and $822,364 for a mulit-family home.

Beaver Creek had the largest dollar volume at $39,345,000 and Lionshead saw the largest average sales price at $4,700,625.  Cordillera saw the largest increase in sales volume with a 37% jump over 2005, resulting in an average gain of $259,951 per sale.
