A New Adventure in Vail

Longtime ski bum has child

When thinking about all the adventures and activities in the Vail Valley, my new most exciting endeavour was not on my list when I moved to Vail.  Fresh out of college, Vail was my playground for skiing, biking, bar crawling, playing soccer and exploring this vast beautiful area.  I never expected to have this valley become my "permanent home."  (A feeling I know is shared by many of Vail’s longtime residents.)  But now, as a new parent, Vail appeals to me for other reasons.

More and more ski bums turned parents have chosen to stay in the valley and make this place home.  Edwards, Eagle, and Gypsum are teeming with former East and West Vailites that moved down-valley.  So many former bartenders and lift-ops are now up at the crack of dawn, not for powder turns, but for feedings and diapers.  These transplants from all over the US, share a desire to raise their kids in a safe, fun, and healthy environment.  I am so glad we have the opportunity to experience the beauty of Mother Nature on a daily basis, instead of as a yearly get-away.

I have always enjoyed Vail, for the lifestyle it allows, for its sheer beauty, and for all of the great outdoor activities enjoyed by its residents.  But it really is a fantastic place to raise children.  A community with like minded people who value a mountain lifestyle.  (By the way, the Vail Valley Medical Center provides amazing care for new parents and their babies!)

I am so very excited with this new chapter in my life, and so happy that we will experience it here in the Vail Valley.  For any questions about Vail or real estate in general, or about specific properties, please contact Doug at 970-926-6777.
