Arrabelle and Vail Square retailers getting ready to open
Ski season gets things moving in the new and old Lionshead
The Arrabelle at Vail Square’s scheduled January 5 opening is still on target despite disagreement between the town and Vail Resorts over the company’s obligation to provide 120 units of employee housing. Along with the luxury resort, several of the high-end retail stores surrounding the hotel plan to open over the next few weeks. In the meantime, the rest of Lionshead has been bustling as usual with the incoming ski traffic.
Here’s a highlight of what you’ll see in the new Square: Snowboard manufacturer Burton will open a 3,900 square foot retail store; Patagonia will offer high performance outerwear for adults and kids and travel gear; Shade offers high-end sunglass and ski goggles, jewelry and accessories with a great selection of watches; Vail Sports Ski Rental and Vail Sports Kids rents skis and sells children’s outerwear; Quiksilver sells trendy outerwear, active-wear, shoes and accessories; Avalon sells designer outerwear: shearlings, leather and unique fur products; Arriesgado is a modern clothing store for men and women; Haagen-Dazs ice cream (no more need be said); Vail Chophouse will serve steaks and chops, fresh seafood, salads; and Blue Moose will serve New York style pizza, subs and salads.
Last, but not least, Rimini is an extremely unique shop opening this winter at Vail Square as well as in Beaver Creek Village. Named after the Italian town known as the capital of gelato, the store owner and publisher of Chocolatier magazine Michael Schneider will bring a new gelato, chocolate and wine experience to the United States starting in the Vail Valley.
As you cruise around Vail Square and the changed face of Lionshead, you’ll find some things haven’t changed. You’ll still find the same smiling faces and great service at Jay’s Ski Base ski rental and hip retail shop.
Whatever you decide to do in Lionshead, the new Vail Square is expanding your options.
