As Expected - Eagle County Development Moratorium Passed

No surprises today and with very little notice, commissioners approve 9 month moratorium

As suggested in my earlier post, the elected Eagle County Commissioners unwittingly signed into statute a 9 month development moratorium.

Now i know what your thinking, this is a vail real estate blog and of course i am pro-development. My issue, is that in less than four months and with scant public notice, two "public servants" could put together and railroad through a moratorium that goes against the very essence of The Eagle County Master Plan; a plan tha took years of research and planning to develop and not that long ago.

Not to mention, that the acts today will begin to artificially inflate existing property values in a market that already has very limited available "for sale" property inventory.

One more prediction; the Master Plan will be the next document they will try to restrictively modify; as i reflect, this actually reminds me of the Town of Vail’s pompous development policy’s in the early 90’s; guess what, no one lives there anymore!
