Beaver Creek Landing (Lottery Part II)
Difficult choices in real estate lottery
As October 6th approaches, second home buyers and real estate investors are carefully choosing which units in Building B of the new ski-in/ski-out Beaver Creek Landing project they want to own. Building A sold out in a day, with 134 contracts for 26 units. Those buyers that were involved with the lottery for Building A, and did not get a unit, will have preference in the Building B lottery.
So the question that needs to be asked is; "Do I go for a unit that will have the fewest number of contracts, or do I go for the unit that best suits my needs, independent of its popularity?" With 108 potential buyers, (and 26 units)the odds for getting a well-liked unit are not very good. Each potential buyer can select 3 units that they would like to purchase. The most coveted units may have upwards of 40 different contracts, reducing your odds to 2.5% likely. Great for Lotto, not so good for buying your dream condo.
If you really want a condo in Beaver Creek Landing Building B, it is a wise choice to go for the least coveted units. (In Building A, these were the 4 bedroom and more expensive units.) Building B has no 4 bedroom units, so, good luck in choosing your Building B condo.
