Beaver Creek Rodeo Ends For the 2009 Season!

Well yeehaw and howdy!  The Beaver Creek Rodeo series concluded last night for the 2009 season.  And what a night it was!  The weather could not have been better, and a thousand + people  would certainly agree.  Cowboys and cowgirls of all ages turned out in force for the final night.

I must admit, it was my first trip to the Beaver Creek Rodeo (located in Avon behind Chapel Square) and I was duly impressed.  The rodeo itself was captivating and the contestants very skilled.  And the food stands, activities, and active crowd made it that much more entertaining.  My boys (2 and 4) loved watching all the excitement of calf-roping, barrel racing, and bronco-busting as well as the pony rides, face painting and snow cones.  Life is simple when you’re 4, if not a challenge for your folks!

What a great place we live in where folks from all over, residents and vacationers, come together and share in a collective experience of community and western heritage.  Smiles abounded and memories were made as the sun dipped over the horizon, and parents and kids alike made their ways back to their cars.  We can’t wait for the next season of the Beaver Creek Rodeo series to unfold next year in 2010!
