Eagle County Real Estate Taxes reflect stable property values.? According to Eagle County Assessor, Mark Chapin, in most cases property values have increased or remained constant for the 2009 reassessment. ?The perception of property owners may be their value has dropped, but this just isn?t the case,? said Chapin. ?By state law, values were determined during a time period before the county really started to feel the economic downturn.? So all the homeowners who cannot sell their homes, whose businesses are suffering,?can expect their tax bill to be the same or higher!? I suspect there will be quite a few unhappy Vail and Eagle County residents this year as they open their new real estate tax assessment.
