Wildridge is located high above the commercial center of Avon, which offers fabulous views of Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead, lots of sunshine and beautiful starry nights. There is great access to the White River National Forest which surrounds the area. Currently, there is a wide variety of townhomes, duplexes and single family homes on the market.
On a open house tour last week, I was quite impressed with a home that recently came on the market, located at 2901 June Creek Trail. It’s a four bedroom, three and half bath residence with an office and game room. This home has high end finishes and unobstructed views of the mountains. It has a spacious open floor plan with cathedral ceilings, large windows with lots of natural light, slab granite countertops and large decks with privacy. Being offered at $999,000.
If you are looking for new construction, you might want to check out the new townhome development at 3070 Wildridge Road. This is a 4 unit townhome development offering 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath townhomes with views of Beaver Creek and Arrowhead. All units will have forced air heating and are fully air conditioned. There is a fireplace in the great room, interior doors and trim are knotty alder. Each unit has an extra large one car garage, a balcony and deck. Prices are from $725,000 to $825,000.

The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa’s grand opening party was a hit! One of the best events of the summer to be sure. Over 1000 people are sure to agree; the food, service, music and atmosphere all were top notch and highlighted this beautiful property!
Party goers had many venues to choose from: the champagne and caviar on the 4th floor inside one of the well appointed guest suites; the spacious spa with natural foods and work out equipment, the Restaurant Avondale for desset fondue and drinks aplenty, the conference rooms with wedding band sounds and veggie apps., and of course the ice bar martini slide on the deck overlooking the Eagle River.
The hotel’s interior is comfortable and inviting in a mountain modern style, offering many places to sit and enjoy the massive mountain views towards Beaver Creek. The “green” bar in the lobby area offers only organic beverages (wine, beer and spirits etc.) and the Restaurant Avondale exceeded expectations both in food and design. Inside this excellent property, one feels in a different place and time slows down; a sanctuary unto itself.

Avon planners are putting the finishing touches on plans for the town’s new “heart” - a mainstreet that includes planters, plazas and a pedestrian mall relesing new images of what it will look like. The new street is expected to include a snowmelt systemthat uses recycled heat from the town’s wastewater treatment plant rather then gas.
The new road will run from Avon Road to the Eastern gateway to Nottingham park THe project is expected to be paid for through funds paid by tax increment financing, a complicated tax plan that generates new tax revenues from a rise in property taxes as new development appreciates.

A Florida family didn’t mind paying a more than 1 million $ premium for a 4 bedroom penthouse in the new Arrabelle at Vail square condos in Lionshead. After coming to Vail for christmas for the last 2 or 3 years, the family wanted to buy something where they would make memories with their 4 kids. Eventhough the condo origionally sold for 4.4 million before construction was complete, the family was happy to pay 5.6 million for a one of a kind place.
SixteenArrabelle transactions were recorded in June, selling for an average of 4.1 million a piece, according to Land Tittle. Of the 67 condos at Arrabelle, 21 have been resold so far.
The Arrabelle has condos, hotel rooms,a spa, restaurants and stores like Burton, Vail sports and Patagonia.

Just a couple exits down the I-70 from Vail, Avon is well known as the gateway to Beaver Creek. For locals, it’s a stop on our weekly to do list as the home of the most price sensitive grocery & everything else stores in the Valley. While other area of the valley shy away from big chain names, Avon proudly homes well known names like Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Outback Steak House, Pier 1, Sports Authority and Radio Shack. At the center of town, Nottingham Lake lends a beautiful and peaceful side to balance out the town and gives us a perfect place for community festivities including Colorado’s largest display of fireworks on the 4th of July. Avon also offers a library, recreation center and plenty of pocket parks and playgrounds.
Not far from the lake the new gondola from the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa offers skier access to Beaver Creek Mountain without having to drive up to the lift. In fact, the former skier shuttle from the parking lot at the bottom of Beaver Creek has been redirected to the new gondola so unless you want to pay for parking up top, you’ll end up checking out the new ride.
Moving forward with the newly developed master plan, the town will incorporate the Westin Resort into a pedestrian friendly downtown area, including a Main Street, something Avon has always lacked.
For the homebuyer, Avon is an excellent location within walking or bus ride distance to everything. There are numerous condos and town houses around the lake and near the gondola that are perfect for second home owners, rentals and locals wanting to be in the middle of it all. Across the interstate from Eagle-Vail, a new development is under works that will result in 2,400 homes, a cultural and recreation center, a new school and over 500 acres of open space and parks.
