East Vail ( a favorite of mine) is one of the only communities here in the Vail Valley that still feels like a ski town.? Mountains and trees dominate the views, with only very limited commercial development.? (the liquor store complex by Pitkin Creek and the Bighorn Bistro at the Vail Racquet Club)? Ski bums still live side by side with millionaire vacationers.
Of all the places I've called home, East Vail is the one place that I really miss.? For the alpine enthusiast, East Vail has it all: great hiking, backcountry skiing, ice climbing, mountain biking, fly fishing, kayaking, abundant wildlife, and very little commercial development.
As the gateway to the Vail Valley for most of our car driving visitors,?East Vail?speaks to an earlier time when skiing was about skiing, not about?a "resort".? A-frames and mountain chalets dot the eastern reaches, as?massive pine trees and snow banks provide a true alpine environment.
Take the time to ride your bike along the winding streets, and along Gore Creek on the way to Vail Pass.? Discover one or all of the high altitude lakes that lie at the base of the Gore Range.? Sit in a meadow of wildflowers while your only companion is the wind and the sunshine, and the birds and the deer.? You get the picture.
East Vail continues to be one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the entire Vail Valley.? With a true alpine feel, East Vail embodies all that a skiing retreat should be: close proximity to world class skiing, HUGE views of mountains and National Forest, and a great mix of local residents and second homeowners.
One complex that embodies the East Vail way of life is Altair Vail!? Located just off of Bighorn Road, the condos in Altair have an ideal location, with the free Town of Vail bus service stopping?right outside.? Just down the road is a market and a liquor store for those last minute necessities.? Currently there is one 1 Bedroom unit available for sale, listed at $315,000.? And there is one 2 bedroom unit under contract.
There are now 3 Booth Creek Townhomes on the market in East Vail, all with views to Vail Mountain.? Located one mile west of the East Vail exit, on the north side of I-70, these townhomes are spacious with very functional floorplans.? Units E1, E2, and G3 are listed at $683,900; $639,000; and $680,000, respectively.
East Vail with Sun, and on the free bus route.? With great open living on 3 levels, these 3 bedroom/2.5 bath units have a private, comfortable?feel.?
Please call or email anytime to learn more about this great complex and these specific homes.
As Vail Mountain closed for another great year, Booth Creek Townhomes started undergoing a major renovation.? This fantastic cluster of 35 townhouses is located just one mile west of the East Vail I-70 exit.? Situated to the north of I-70, and just west of Booth Creek, these 3 bedroom units bask in the morning and afternoon sun.? With breathtaking views of the Gore Range, the Vail Golf Course,?and Vail Mountain, the homeowners decided it was time for a little updating?of the aging exteriors.
As with many older projects in Vail, including the Vail Racquet Club, time had exerted itself and the elements had taken their toll.? It was time for a major "sprucing up", almost a complete overhaul to the exteriors of the buildings.? New fire retardant materials are being utilized as each unit gets new siding, new decks, new metal caps on the chimneys and entryways, new stucco on the chimneys, and more rock-work will be added as well.? (The project is slated to finish in early July.)? Property values have jumped in East Vail as of late, and remodels like this one only add to the property's worth.
