Cattletown, city,crossroads,….?

What should Wolcott become?

Building a town from scratch.

The question is when Wolcott becomes a town, how big will it be and what will it look like?

If developed, Wolcott would probably be a small, pedestrian friendly town concentrated on the valley floor, Senior County planner Cliff Simonton said.  It would be a mix of shops and 800 to 1200 homes, less than amile in diameter.  The east end of the area would stay undeveloped, possibly as dedicated open space.  A countrywide survey done last fall showed that respondents wanted a balance between keeping Wolcott’s rural character and developing the area.  We will give the people much of what they want, especially as it relates to quality of life.  Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects of building in Wolcott is the chance to completely plan atown from scratch, Eagle County commissioner Peter Runyon said. "Every community in the county has been developed without a community master plan.  This could be complete with bike paths, a school, a range of housing, and a downtown- i see something in the order of Eagle Ranch. " Peter Runyon said.
