Construction has begun on Vail's brand new High Noon Lift, also known as Chair 5 in Vail's Back Bowls.?? The new four seater high speed?chair lift is part of the $75 million to $85 million improvement package?at several of Vail Resorts properties this summer, including a new Mid-Vail restaurant, new maintenance facility on the mountain, expanded snowmaking on the Simba Trail, expansion of the?tubing hill at Vail Mountain's Adventure Ridge and improved grooming and snowmaking equipment at all five of the ski company's resorts - Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly.? The new High Noon Lift will improve skier circulation on the mountain and will carry 2,400 people per hour and reduce the ride to 6 minutes.?? Vail mountain removed more than 100 trees to make room for the new chairlift, including the famous Panty Tree, in which many pairs of women's panties and Mardi Gras beads where thrown.? There is no doubt that the Panty Tree will regenerate itself as soon as ski season opens.
