Discounts at all your favorite restaurants

We all are sad to see the ski season end, even to the point that the lift operators were writing messages on their chalk boards to beg the big wigs to stay open for a few more weeks. But that was not to be, and both Vail and Beaver Creek closed with mid mountain bases of 75" to 95 " and not a bare spot to be seen. Many of the die hards will be headed to Arapahoe Basin to get in more turns starting this week.

In the meantime, for those of us who stay, there will be incredible deals to be had at some of the finest restaurants in the Valley. The Vail Daily was kind enough to publish all the bargains and some are just not to be passed up. In Vail, I pick Kelly Liken as the most responsible knocking 50% off all entrees and 50% off selected wines and cocktails. Terra Bistro will also reduce entrees by 50% and some appetizers will be at half price during ‘appy hour’. Don’t forget Russell’s as they also will be at 50% for entrees.

In Avon and Eagle/Vail my number one pick is Vin 48, the newest restaurant in town and serving excellent courses. They are offering to knock off 48% from the price of both entrees and wines, and I would say their menu is delightful to boot. Zacca Za, another locals favorite, is offering a four course dinner for two at a prix fix of $34.95. Say no more, I’ll be there.

Edwards, with some of the best dining facilities in the valley, will offer much of the same as above. My pick here is our newest restaurant, Matthews, in the Edwards Plaza Building, where entrees will be 50% off for the rest of the month. The old standby, the Gashouse, is also offering 50% off all entrees and Rays is offering 30 to 50% off all entrees, whatever that means.

There are a considerable number of other great restaurants that have varying price reductions and there is not room enough to list them all.
