Convenience

When one looks at the ticket price from Eagle Regional Airport vs. Denver International its almost always lower from Denver but wait a minute and look at the total cost.  Once you arrive in Denver the add on’s begin.  Its 105 miles to and from Vail to DIA and when you add parking, gas, rental or van service the total might be surprizingly close. And how about convenience?  Denver to Vail in the best conditions is about a  two hour drive.  Eagle to Vail 30 minutes.  Denver parking garage is $18. per day vs Eagle FREE.  During the ski season one can fly Atlanta to Eagle and ski half a day without to much hassle.  Atlanta to Denver and the drive you probably ski the next day! 

Eagle County is growing and so are the number of daily flights.  There are many cities around the country that now offer daily 757 service non-stop to Eagle and next winter another (close to) 15 daily non-stops from Denver.  When you figure the cost and time Eagle might be the best way to the Vail Valley.
