Eagle Vail Future Plans

Eagle Vail to Unveil Conceptual Plans Showing Future Improvements

On Monday August 27, 2007, the Eagle Vail Metro District in conjunction the the Eagle Vail Property Owners Ass will present conceptual plans for Eagle-Vail’s future.

There will be two presentation/meetings for those interested.  The first presentation/meeting will be from 12:00 noon to 1:30pm.  The second will be from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

Information gathered at these meeting will be used to finalize the "road map" for the future of Eagle-Vail.

In order to implement the future improvements, the voters of Eagle-Vail will recieve a mail-in ballot from the Eagle Vail Metro District in late October with just one question on it.

The question will ask the voters to continue collecting 9.4 mils currently used to pay off long term debt.  This long term debt will be paid off in 2009 at which time the current 9.4 mils expires.  In order for the District to embark on "reenergizing Eagle-Vail" residents will need to vote to continue paying 9.4 mils in order to fund the future improvements needed in Eagle-Vail.

The "road map" for the future cannot be totally funded by the continuation of 9.4 mils.  In order to accomplish the entire master plan, a second source of revenue will need to be added to the mix.  In my opinion, that second source of revenue is a transfer assement of 2% on the sale of real estate in Eagle-Vail.

A transfer assessment is a fee paid to the Eagle Vail Property Owners Association upon the sale of a home or vacant lot in Eagle Vail.  The fee is paid by either the buyer or seller and often times is split between the buyer and seller.
