Edwards sees more growth in the future
Edwards, already the largest town in the valley, has more developments on the way.
Two new developments planned in the Edwards core area are going through the PUD approval process at Eagle County.
1 - The Westend located along Highway 6 next to the Gashouse has a proposal for 185 units, 70 of which will be purchased by the County for ‘affordable’ housing. There is 85,000 sf of commercial and retail space also planned, for a total of 326,856 sf of space.
2 - Edwards Condominiums is located behind the Edwards Corner building and Edwards commercial park. This proposal will see 56 high end rental units and 4,000 sf of commercial space.
The two new proposals will bring an additional 466,856 sf of total space compared to Riverwalk, which is in itself almost 380,000sf. Plans at Westend will include the use of the new roundabout to be built in conjunction with the Eagle River Preserve. It is anticipated that both projects will generate a lot of discussion in the future.
