Entertainment in the Vail Valley

The Ford Amphitheater and The Vilar Center host many evenings of top notch music

The Vail Valley is in full swing this summer with the Bravo Music Festival offering some of the best orchestras in the country. Over the week of the Fourth of July, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra offering a night with Beethoven and then a Patriotic Concert on the Fourth followed by a Broadway Pops the next day. No sooner had they finished when the Philadelphia Orchestra came to the Ford Amphitheater playing Mozart, Dvorak, and Tchaikovsky. They also played at the Eagle Pavilion and the Vail Chapel. The New York Philharmonic is scheduled to arrive July 20, but in between the loyal audience was entertained by Judy Collins, a truly lovely evening. The New York will then play Beethoven, Mozart, Ravel, and Stravinsky. One evening is reserved for Strauss waltzes and Dvorak. The music continues at the Vilar Center on July 31 and private residences and culminates with  a Grand Baroque Final at the Vilar on Aug. 2.

The summer continues with the Vail International Dance Festival starting July 29 at Ford Amphitheater and continues also at Vilar and continues through the weekend of Aug. 11 and 12. Vail continues to be the leading cultural center of the Rocky Mountains and visitors can enjoy all the outdoor activities during the day and then lay back on the grass and hear beautiful music and dance in the evenings.
