Just a couple exits down the I-70 from Vail, Avon is well known as the gateway to Beaver Creek.? Not far from the lake the new gondola from the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa offers skier access to Beaver Creek Mountain without having to drive up to the lift.? In fact, the former skier shuttle from the parking lot at the bottom of Beaver Creek has been redirected to the new gondola so unless you want to pay for parking up top, you?ll end up checking out the new ride.
Moving forward with the newly developed master plan, the town will incorporate the Westin Resort into a pedestrian friendly downtown area, including a Main Street, something Avon has always lacked.?
For the homebuyer, Avon is an excellent location within walking or bus ride distance to everything.? There are numerous condos and town houses around the lake and near the gondola that are perfect for second home owners, rentals and locals wanting to be in the middle of it all.?
