Getting to Know the Vail Valley: Lake Creek

A few miles west of downtown Edwards, Lake Creek sits in an absolutely beautiful alpine setting in one of the most scenic and sought-after communities in the Vail Valley.? Named after the rushing creek that runs through this valley of lush forests, the neighborhood consists of ranches, gated communities and a few dozen (mostly single family) homes with amazing views of the snowcapped Sawatch Ranch.?

With prime outlets for road and mountain biking and road and trail running, Lake Creek attracts locals looking for a place to spend the day.? We head up to both Lake Creek trailheads (East and West Lake Creek) regularly to hike, showshoe or just let the kids run around.? Of course, I?m slightly biased, since I can run out my door and hit a shortcut to be running next to the creek in a few minutes, but my favorite runs, road and trail are all in Lake Creek.?

Residents of Lake Creek enjoy larger parcels of land, a sense of space in the mountain valley, fewer architectural regulations and freedom of land usage, while living just a few minutes away from downtown Edwards? amenities.
