Getting to Know the Vail Valley: Wildridge
This week I?ve taken a client from Vermont out to look at houses up and down the valley from West Vail to Eagle and, in the middle, Wildridge.? On a sunny deck, enjoying spectacular views of the mountains, he said to me ?I guess you get used to the highway noise? and as every local would say ?what highway noise??? Yes, it?s the reason Aspenites like to snub their noses to Vail?it?s on the interstate.? We enjoy the interstate because it takes us to Denver in 90 minutes for a day of shopping,?to see a football game, go to the zoo, or to just get out of town for a day.? It quickly takes us to places like Glenwood Springs and Aspen and, like it or not, it makes more room for the Vail Valley to grow and spread.? It?s such a part of our lives we don?t even notice its quiet hum (true - in some neighborhoods it?s quieter than in others!) until someone from out of town points it out to us.?
You?ll be happy to know that my friend from Vermont did find a quiet neighborhood, at the top of the hillside to the north of Avon called Wildridge, where you don?t have to get used to the highway because you?ll be too busy enjoying birds chirping and amazing mountain and sunset views.? This sun baked community hosts a wide variety of condos, townhouses, duplexes and single-family homes, many of which have in your face views of Beaver Creek Mountain, New York Mountain and the Sawatch Mountain Range.? Nestled against the White River National Forest, Wildridge offers great hiking and biking trails.? 10 minutes to Beaver Creek and 15 to Vail, Wildridge is a popular location with locals and second homeowners wanting easy access to the mountain.?
