One Last Round
Get out and golf before the snow starts falling
"Will I be able to get another round of golf in before the snow starts flying?" This question is undoubtedly being asked by many locals throughout the Vail Valley. The aspens are a gorgeous golden color, and the Gore Range has a white blanket. The air is brisk and the grass is covered in frost each morning. Winter is just around the corner, and I’m at my desk instead of enjoying 18 holes of fall splendor.
For all of us that abide in this beautiful locale, balancing our professional lives with our outdoor activities can be a challenge. (This was not the case when I was new to the valley and my "profession" was exploring my new home in the Rockies. But I was fresh out of college then.) Skiing is truly a passion and I make time for it in the winter, but with only a few weeks left in the golf season, I find myself chomping at the bit to get out and chase that little white ball.
The joy of creating the exact shot that I have in my head in real time on the course is fantastic. Sinking that 20 foot putt to save par and win the skin from my buddies. Hitting the ball right down the pipe off the first tee at Red Sky Ranch, knowing it’s going to be a great round. These are all reasons to get up, turn off the computer, and spend 3-4 hours outdoors in one of the most beautiful valleys in the country. Anybody need a fourth?
