Palmerosa Ranch Development On Hold
County Commissioners Shoot Down Current Plan
The Palmerosa Ranch develpoment, located along Lake Creek in Edwards, was recently denied in its current form by the Eagle County Commissioners. Developer Jim Comerford expects to resubmit altered plans in the future. Neighbors of the project saluted the commissioners, stating the development would have had a negative impact on the local elk herd.
The current plan allowed for 5 luxury homes to be built clustered along the creek, with much acreage set aside for no development. Most homeowners and wildlife officials present at the commissioners meeting, felt 3 homes would be ideal. The 43 acre parcel is a beautiful piece of real estate along the valley floor, with outstanding views of the New York mountains and excellent river frontage. Very little developable land remains in the Lake Creek drainage. The Cattleman’s Club may be the next big deal in Lake Creek.
