Banner Year For Vail Resorts
Beaver Creek '04-'05 skier visits rise 6.0%
Beaver Creek continues to be a hot commodity!!For the 2004-2005 ski season, Beaver Creek saw its skier visits rise 6.0%. Approximately 815,000 skier visits were reported by Vail Resorts for its Beaver Creek ski area. Vail Resorts also reported its most profitable year, $23.1 million in net income on $810 million in revenue. Vail Resorts’ revenue is divided into 3 categories: mountain, lodging, and real estate. Expect continued growth in real estate as Vail Resorts predicts its larger developments of generating significant profits. (i.e Arrabelle, Gore Creek Place etc.)
Beaver Creek saw roughly half as many skier visits as Vail, but its growth greatly outpaced Vail, which had a skier visit rise of only 0.8%. Beaver Creek recently placed 6th overall on SKI Magazine’s list of top ski resorts. Vail fell from the number one spot to number two. With continued national exposure and more baby boomers deciding Beaver Creek is the place, expect the real estate market to stay strong for the ‘05-’06 season.
