Vail Real Estate and Resort Real Estate being noticed nationally
Resort Real Estate and Second Homes are taking center stage in the industry
With over 30% of U.S. real estate sales being airmarked as second homes or resort homes (NAR statistic), both the National Association of Realtors and the Urban Land Institute have taken notice. Vail Real Estate is sure to see another increase in popularity.
NAR recently announced it’s new designation called "Resort and Second Home Property Specialist". As a licensed Realtor, you can start taking classes as the designation will be offered after the first of the year. John Helmering of Gateway Land and Development Company will start the required courses soon.
The Urban Land Institute, ULI, stated in it’s most recent report, "2006 Emerging Trends in Real Estate" that demand for unique resort communities will be sustained in coming years by baby boomers and land banking in second home country makes sense." They mentioned beach front more than mountain resorts but this author would suggest that the sustained success of Rocky Mountain resorts and Vail will that of these beach communities.
