While just in the discussion phase at the moment, Eagle County has earmarked $250,000 for improvements to the Fairgrounds area this year. They are looking to hire a Park Event Coordinator to manage and enhance activities at the soon to be named regional park at the Fairgrounds. The overall plan is to create more of a pedestrian-friendly recreational area along the Eagle River, offering a place for locals and guests to picnic, play and attend special events.
With all the new development in Eagle and Gypsum, down-valley residents are ready to have a community gathering place for family and friends. The plan is to benefit the fair and rodeo and create a park with soccer fields, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and picnic shelters for all to enjoy.
