Frontier to Eagle
low fare carrier may arrive soon
Frontier Airlines has announced it will begin to fly 12 new routes from Denver International Airport shortly. Although no exact sites or dates have been announced it appears the Eagle Regional airport is in line for direct service to and from Denver on the carriers new commuter Lynx Aviation and possibly by the next ski season. At present United is the only year around carrier and this would be the second. Frontier will operate Bombardier Q400 turbo-prop jets. The local community has put up nearly $200,000. in incentives to Frontier to help make this happen. Today many majors fly into Eagle using Boeing 757’s and 767’s but only during the winter months.
A well kept secret of the beauty and weather in the Eagle Valley during the summer months is driving this need for new service. Summer in the Rockies includes golf, tennis, hiking, biking, concerts, and many other activities. For details ask steve@gatewayland.com for information and schedules.
