Parking Prices are Planning on Going up in Vail
Parking in Vail and Lionshead Prices Increase for 2007-2008 Ski Season

The Town of Vail is recommending a rate increase for both hourly and seasonal parking for the 2007-2008 Ski Season in Vail and Lionshead. Parking will still remain free for the first 90 minutes and after 3 PM. The recommended rates are as follows:
1 and 1/2 to 2 Hours: $5.00
2 to 3 Hours: $ 9.00
3 to 4 Hours: $13.00
4 to 6 Hours: $17.00
All Day cap or 24 Hours $18.00
Discounted Value Parking Cards for Vail and Eagle County residents would be betweeen $7 ann $16 for all-day parking in the structure, depending on availability.
All Parking Passes will increase $50 for 2007-2008. The final determination on the Parking Task Force Recommendations will be considered by the Vail Town Council on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007 at 6:00 PM
The Hillwood Capital Group of Dallas will be looking for approval of their plan for the Lionshead Parking Structure at the same time. Their redevelopment plan increases the current parking spaces from 1,150 to 1,450. Their plan includes two hotels, (240 rooms), 130 condos and 25 timeshares in the same footprint. This density will certainly increase the parking prices and availabilty of spaces over time. Are we becoming another New York City?
You can purchase your own heated underground parking spot, and ski home to a studio condo, store your skis, and enjoy the new hot tub at the Lodge at Lionshead. With parking becoming more expensive and difficult to find in Vail and Lionshead, and Hillwood Capital’s plans for more beds, buying an entry level condo with parking now would be a smart move.
