Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa: Avon’s Gateway to the Mountain
Luxury in Avon with quick access to Beaver Creek
Construction of Avon’s newest Westin Resort, is on schedule with the Gondola and Plaza scheduled to open December 20th and the hotel to open next summer.
Riverfront Resort and Spa boosts Beaver Creek’s reputation for luxury, offering 24,000 square feet of spa and fitness center space, a 25-meter outdoor saltwater lap pool, three riverside hot tubs, ski valet, personal trainers, yoga instructors, shop, market and more. The Westin chain’s usual amenities will be standard, including the signature Heavenly Bed in each room. The Spa Angell will focus on mountain-inspired treatments and ingredients.
Chef Thomas Salamunovich, of the highly acclaimed Larkspur restaurant in Vail, will head up the Westin’s Watermark restaurant using regional ingredients to create what’s described as New American Cuisine.
The Riverfront Express Gondola, whose plaza is located steps from what will be the hotel’s lobby adjacent to the Eagle River, will wisk skiers to the Lower Bachelor Gulch Express lift at Beaver Creek Landing. From there skiers and snowboarders can catch one more lift to get up to skiable terrain.
Combining visions of both environmental- and pedestrian-friendly design, Riverfront Resort to become one of the first hotels in the country to become LEED (Leadership in Energy and Enviro Design) certified.
The 290 residences studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences are being offered as wholly owned condominiums which will include all hotel services and amenities. Not your typical hotel room, these residences are thoughtfully conceived and furnished - down to the corkscrew. Features include kitchenettes, large bathrooms, fireplaces, LCD televisions, 9′6" ceilings, wireless internet workspaces, owners’ closets and a variety of views overlooking the pool and Eagle River.
123 residences have been sold for close to $106 million. While the one-bedroom units are all currently under contract, there are plenty of studios and two- bedroom units, as well as a handful of three-bedroom units available.
