The one beautiful thing about living in the Vail Valley is that there is something for everyone. While many are moving to Eagle and Gypsum for more space and sun, there are those that still prefer true alpine living.
Currrently there are 8 new homes available in East Vail ranging in size from 4,133 sq ft to 5,772 sq ft, both single family and duplex homes. When East Vail was originally zoned, many lots were zoned primary and seconday, which allowed duplex homes on a lot covering 20% of the land, leaving 80% green space around the total building envelope.
Prices for new construction range from $2,995,000 to $4,825,000 and average around $775 a sq ft. If you can find a lot in East Vail, it will be at a premium, over 1 Million now since only a few exist. So you are seeing the older homes being torn down and new homes with floor plans, kitchens, baths, windows and heating constructed with current standards and demands. East Vail has typically been about one-half the cost per square foot as Vail Village. Now with new construction cost at $1,800 to over $2,500 a square foot in the Village, East Vail is looking pretty good.
Those of you who love views of the Vail chutes and waterfalls, wildflower hikes out your door, clear night sky for star gazing with no light polution, convenient access to the slopes with a free bus and beautiful new homes in an alpine setting, should consider one of the eight new homes available in East Vail.
