Ginn Development Company promises Minturn Residents Huge Benefits

Ginn Development Sweetens the Annexation Package for Minturn Residents

Minturn Town Council asks Ginn Development for more Benefits for Minturn Residents -

Bike Paths, Traffic Safety, Ski Days, Golf and Hunting rights and Housing

Ginn Development wants to build 1,700 homes and condominiums and a private ski resort and golf course on Battle Mountain, south of Minturn.  Any buildings 20,000 square feet or over will be built to energy-efficient building standards, approximately 70 percent of the 1,700 homes.  The Minturn Town Council members are expected to vote on whether to annex Ginn's property into Minturn before an upcoming election in April, 2008.

Ginn is promising to house 50 per cent of its employees.  In addition, Ginn workers will be guaranteed full-time employment year round, not just seasonally, health insurance and 401 K profit-sharing. Workers will be paid a higher-than-normal wage since they will not rely on tips for income.

Minturn will get $6 Million in tax revenue the second year after annexation and $6 to $10 Million each year after five years.

Ginn is proposing to provide hunting on Battle Bountain for Minturn and Red Cliff residents and for $50 per year, residents can ski a total of 30 days each ski season on the private ski mountain.  Residents will be able to golf 15 days on the private golf course and use Ginn's pools, meeting halls and restaurants.

Ginn is offering to pay for a seven-mile public, paved bike path across the developer's property from Bolts Lake, south of Minturn, to RedCliff.   In addition, Ginn will pay for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, lighting and signs to imrove traffic safety on Minturn's roads.  Ginn will fund a new wastewater treatment plant for Minturn.

So, it looks like the benefits to Minturn and Red Cliff residents are mounting, as the Council members get ready to vote on Ginn's Development 's annexation to the Town of Minturn.
