ReaL Estate Sales Continue to Rise

Eagle County has another blockbuster month

Real estate sales in May grew to the second largest volume in County history - almost $302 million, with the only higher volume in Novemenber of 2005. Year to date total is $1.2 billion, which is 27% above last year’s record setting numbers. The Beaver Creek hotel and the Village Hall Condos contribute $69 million to this total, so there is a bit of a tilt in that direction.

On the other hand, the town of Eagle continues to contribute to the largest volume with 291 transactions and Gypsum was second with 125, again indicating the current trend of Buyers moving down valley. Eagle Ranch and Cotton Ranch continue to attract the most activity as families look for new housing that is in what we call the ‘obtainable’ range. As the cost of housing, even in Edwards, continues to escalate, the cost of land in the western towns allows builders to provide more reasonable pricing to the Buyers.

Gateway Land is one of the most active brokers in the that area, and you may call Judd Babcock(970-376-3230) for specific homes and condos that are affordable. Also look on Vailpropertysearch.com for our web site and new listings.
