Skatepark Returns to Lionshead in Vail

Vail's Skatepark is returning to Lionshead - 2007

Some people think you must be nuts to put your feet on a skate board and go up and down ramps, but a dedicated group of local skaters partnered with the Town of Vail to construct new modular ramps for skateboarding on top of the Lionshead Parking Structure this summer.  The skatepark will feature a 5 foot high by 24 foot wide half-pipe, a large pyramid piece with multiple ramps, transitions, rails and banks.  A street course with several regular and "hubba" ledges and an area for younger inexperienced riders to try their skills, are all part of the plan for skaters in Vail.

The park will open June 1 and remain open until October.  Best of all, something FREE in Vail!  Not to much is free anymore, so grab your pads and your helmut and give it a try!  Even if your friends think your nuts!
