Arapahoe Basin is the First Ski Area to Open for the Season!

Arapahoe Basin opened Wednesday, making it the earliest opening in its 61-year history.  The Exhibition chairlift opened at 9 am and delivered skiers and snowboarders halfway up the mountain.  Several snow storms and snow-making machines working almost around the clock made it possible.  Arapahoe Basin opens early for the media attention and because people are getting the itch to go ski.  Vail is scheduled to open November 16th and Beaver Creek is scheduled to open November 21st.
