State Bridge Lodge Burns Down

Historic Lodge Up In Flames

State Bridge Lodge is no more.  Early on June 2, the historic lodge, located on Highway 131 in Bond, burned to the ground.  This wonderful music venue on the Colorado River has meant so much to so many people.  State Bridge provided a truly unique environment in this age of homogeny.  I think that’s why everyone liked it so much.

The investigation into the fire has not been closed yet, and the community is very curious as to the cause of the blaze.  I hope its origins are purely innocent, even as rumors and speculation continue.  The State Bridge Lodge property is listed for sale, with an asking price of $2.2 million.  While we do not know what the future holds for this special place, we do know the history and remember all of the good times we shared, across the railroad tracks from the river.
