Contemplating Vail Resort's real estate lottery offering in Lionshead

After attending the second round of the lottery process for the reservation options for The ArraBelle at Vail Square, I could not help but come away with the following thoughts and feelings that continued to resurface in my mind.

You see, I had seven different interested purchasers that pursued the lottery due to my urging. In fact, on several occasions, I could have “pushed” these purchasers to other properties but encouraged them to wait until The ArraBelle offering. Not one of my purchasers was selected in a first position. However, we had a second, two third, two forth and two sixth selections in the first lottery and a tenth selection out of two hundred in the second lottery…not bad if your covering the board in a Vegas roulette game.

What makes matters worse is that most of my purchasers were buying these properties for their family retreats, intending to pass down the condominium to future generations. So intrinsically, i am a bit daunted, as it was obvious that many of the purchasers participated truly for investment sake. And then, of course, there is always the suspicion of one entity putting in multiple entries to increase their chances thereby decreasing other purchaser’s chances of being selected.

Although my clients came away disappointed, it is important to note that something positive has come from ArraBelle lottery – the astounding and overwhelming reaction to this offering! Real estate in Vail has never been in a stronger position. This is incredible news for everyone who knows and loves Vail.
