Skiers and snowboarders logged 12.5 Million days at Colorado mountain resorts, a new Record. This years visits from Colorado residents, other states and international skiers was driven by the great snow conditions in early season. Both Vail and Beaver Creek mountains had the best snow at the top of their mountains in nine years. In addition, the ski industry and Colorado Ski Country have been working on increasing the marketing position of the great ski experience in Colorado for years.
Vail Mountain had 1.67 Million skier and Beaver Creek had 875,000 visits in the 2005-2006 ski season. The increased airplane service of Southwest and Frontier to Denver Airport and the added connections at our Eagle airport, helped the skier numbers too.
