Wolcott

cliff house

As it’s name suggests, the cliff house is perched atop a giant precipice, like a lone sentry high above the Eagle river. From the north the five bedroom, six and a half residence is a low slung stone home in a manner of understated elegance rare inthe Vail valley, where custom homes tend to be Alpine style chalets or  National park lodge inspired stone and wood mansions.  FRom the rear, however, it’s a grandiose landmark visible for miles from Interstate 70 as it snakes its way through red canyon, between Wolcott and Eagle.  Large windows face South, East and West to frame the kind of spectacualr mountain panorama that draws people to the Colorado Rockies.
