2008- Bravo’s 21st Season in Vail

Music under the stars is one of the reasons summer is so spectacular in Vail.

  This year John Giovando, Executive Director and Eugenia Zukerman, Artistic Director brought a wonderful lineup of artists to Vail:  The Columbus Jazz Orchestra, The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The New York Philharmonic Orchestra and wonderful Chamber Music.

The season  included music from Bach, Beethoven,  Brahms, Mendelssohn, Mosart, Rachmaninoff, Strauss, Stravinsky,and Tchaikovsky, among others.

Bravo Music Festival in Vail

The Bravo Music Festival Season started June 25 with sounds of New Orleans Jazz, followed by the festival’s salute to freedom with the Rochester Philharmonic on July 4 and family concert presented by the National Repertory Orchestra and the Colorado Children’s Chorale and the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

The spectacular New York Philharmonic Orchestra returned to the Festival for its sixth year.  Alan Gilbert, the newly appointed successor to Lorin Maazel, and legendary pianist Lang Lang open ed the first performance on July 18.   

The world renowned pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet performed at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek.

Bravo brought harps, winds and strings by Debussy, Ravel, and Tchaikovsky to the Vail Mountain School. 

Club Bravo passes and Bach on the Rocks passes offered lawn seating and events throughout the Bravo season.   New for 2008 was a Teen Pass for $39 for ages 13-20, valid for lawn seating at all Bravo amphitheater concerts. The Complete Classic Pass for reserved regular or premium seats for every classical orchestra performance  sold for$573 or $764.  The Amphitheater Subscription Series  for all 18 Bravo performances was $923 or Regular reserved and $1226 for Premium reserved seats.
