Vail for Spring Break

It that time of year already when colleges are out for spring break.   Rumor is skiing at spring break may be the in thing to do as money is tight and prices are down in Vail.  I for one am happy we will be seeing more college students than we have seen in the past few years.  Vail could use the youthful “enthusiasum”.  It has been way too quite for me and a good healthy shot of fun loving college students is just what Vail needs.

Great Snow, Great Weather

Great Snow, Great Weather

It’s time for Vail to return to the days of yesterday year went every nite was Saturday nite and every Saturday nite was New Years Eve.  Its time to see Bridge St revive its moniker of The Street of Dreams the place where all your dreams can come true.  Its time to see spring costumes and young people having fun just like their parents did when they were the same age.

Just another day in Vail

You can get discounts on lift tickets on line.   As far as lodging goes, chances are pretty good you know someone who knows someone whose parents have a place in and around Vail.  There is a geat bus sytem in the Valley which means you don’t have to pay for parking or worry about driving after enjoying all the trappings that come with apre ski.  If you don’t have a connection give my friends a call at Vail Realty and see what they can do for you.   After all nothing parties like a rental.

As far as food and beverages go, try the Tap Room for beer and burgers, or Vendettats for icy cold libations and a slice or two of pizza.  There is always the Red Lion if you can’t find room at the Tap Room or Vendettas.   These places all have TV’s to show your favorite March Madness team.    Nite life is goo.  Late nite try The Club or Samana Lounge, both found on the Street of Dreams aka Bridge St..  Wednesday nites there are free concerts on the streets of Vail.

Snow is great, the weather is great, the beer is cold, so blaze on out  to Vail anyway you can “turn on the juice and cut the damn thing loose”, Kinky Friedman.   Just remember, it’s against the code of the West to be out after dark with your ski boots on, or then again, maybe not.
