Vail Golf Course Audubon International Certified – Vail Golf Course Real Estate
The Vail Golf Club, nestled at the base of the Gore Range Mountains in the heart of the Vail Valley, has retained its designation as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary!” The Vail Golf Club has maintained this coveted designation for the last 12 years and is one of only 757 golf courses in the world to receive the honor of this designation. The Vail Golf Club is an 18 hole, Par 71 Championship Golf Course, open to the public in Vail, Colorado
The Vail Golf Club works on a daily basis to help improve the environment on the course and the land surrounding it to preserve and enhance wildlife habitat and protect natural resources. This is a reason to consider Vail real estate on the Vail Golf Course. To obtain Audubon Certification a golf course must demonstrate that it is maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation and water quality management.
The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses certifies Golf Courses every two years. This year, Vail Golf Club replaced trash and recycling containers with wildlife proof containers, replaced beetle-killed trees with new blue spruce, white fir trees and aspens and replaced a 40 year old irrigation system with a water conservation system. The Vail Golf Club is scheduled to open this late May or early June, weather permitting.
