Vail Mountain Closes For The Season

Great weather and ski conditions ring in the mud season

At slightly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 17th, Vail Mountain’s Chair 4 wound to a stop, marking the official end to the ski season.  Hundreds of revellers, some dressed in costume, celebrated another great season’s passing.  Sunshine and blue skies greeted all that skied or snowboarded on the perfect spring snow conditions.

Many locals commented on how good a condition the snow was in, with fewer mud spots showing through than in many recent years.  The back bowls offered fantastic corn snow, while the frontside groomers made for fast carving turns.

Now with both Beaver Creek and Vail closed for the ski season, thoughts turn to travel and to mud season.  As many locals hit the road for off-season adventures, those that stay in Vail hit the golf courses and get on their bikes.  The pace slows down, and many folks enjoy the quiet that the Vail Valley offers in May.  For more information on the Vail Valley, check out www.vailpropertysearch.com
