Vail Mountain Opens November 18th
Nearly 6 feet of snow on top of the mountain the Thanksgiving Holiday is looking mighty fine.
With recent snow storms leaving up to 6 feet of snow behind, Vail Mountain will open Friday the 18th, will 11 lifts and 72 trails offering 1,015 acres of terrain. Vail will open additional terrain on Wednesday the 23d in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday. With this much snow, Vail Resorts has lifted season pass restrictions for Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th. Opening day will offer the most terrain since 2002. Ticket prices for opening day will be $59 for adults, $49 for sniors and $49 for kids.
New this year: Vail Mountain is planning on increasing its grooming of trails by 30% this season. The mountain grooms 1,300 to 1,600 acres every night plus more during the day with 29 cats. Grooming is fast becoming a 24/7 operation.
