Specific information on the community of East Vail

As the ski season winds down, we thought our readers would enjoy learning more about the different communities that make up the Vail Valley. Each day we will take you from the east to the west of the Valley~ today we begin with East Vail.

Possibly the most alpine and intimate of the Vail Valley’s communities, East Vail hugs the Gore Range at the bottom of Vail Pass. Strictly a residential neighborhood, it is a favorite of longtime locals and second-home owners. The appeal of East Vail is easy to understand- snow blankets its forest in winter, the tip of the valley frames awe inspiring Gore Rance views and the summers errupt with spectacular wildflowers and rushing waterfalls. The cold, snowy winter may linger a little longer than in most of the valley, but the blossoms brought forth by spring are a sweet reward. Some say that when you live in East Vail, you know you’re in the mountains. East Vail is an easy stopping point for visiting front range skiers on their way to the slopes and the free Town of Vail bus system makes commuting to Vail a snap.
