Looking for a ?locals secret? on where to park in Vail?? The tried and true spots have diminished over the years, leaving even the most creative parkers with no alternative but to pay for parking in the 2 Town of Vail parking decks.? Until recently.? The Town of Vail now offers over 70 free parking spots at Donovan Park in South West Vail on days that the facility is not being used.?
?
Located at 1600 S. Frontage Rd, Donovan Pavilion is typically booked 30 days during the winter season, leaving plenty of other days for the public to use its parking lot.? The spots are available from 7 am to 5 pm and are not reserved, so get there early to snag one.? The parking lot will be closed to the public on days that the facility is in use so respect the posted sign showing the availability.
Donovan parkers can catch the free TOV bus at the Matterhorn bus stop, just west of the park at the corner of Matterhorn Cir. and W. Gore Creek Dr.? To remember which bus to get to or from Matterhorn chant the mantra ?Red to Shred, Green go Home? & catch the Red or Green bus accordingly.? The bus stops every half hour on the hour & half.?
