Vail’s Crossroads Development Dead For Now; Little Forsight in Vail Town Council’s Decision

New Vail real estate development killed at town council level

Peter Knobel, the owner of Vail Crossroads shopping center pulled the plug on the re-development yesterday after the Vail Town Council denied approval of the new building siting that it is too large.  The new development would have included a public plaza, bowling alley and residential space.

To the old gaurd that opposed this project, "what little foresight you have".  Don’t you remember just four months ago, cars were lined up on the frontage road from East Vail to West Vail every weekend.  People are not going to stop coming to Vail and the old infrastructure is failing.  Times have changed and you need "new", bigger development and the amenity that goes with it, surrounding our Vail Village.

Guess you’ll have to wait for now unless you beg your way back into Peter Knobel’s heart… and while your at it, add a couple more floors of parking on the Lionshead and Village structures.
